Dr. Mao is originally from Chengdu, China. He works as a dentist since 1982 after graduating with a DDS from Huaxi College of Stomatology, West China University of Medical Science. Afterwards, he continued his higher level of dental education in cariology for 6 years to earn his MS and PhD at the same college. He served as an associate director of the Department of Conservative Dentistry, Huaxi College of Stomatology from 1989 to 1990.

Dr. Mao came to US to work for American Dental Association at National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, Maryland as a dental researcher from 1990 to 1994. Then, he went to Eastman Dental Center (Now Eastman Institute of Oral Health, University of Rochester, NY) to complete his 2 years Advanced Education of General Dentistry (AEGD) with certifications. From 1997 to 1998, Dr. Mao worked at Eastman Dental Center as an assistant professor and clinical instructor. 

Dr. Mao opened his private dental offices (My Dental) and has been serving the community as a general dentist at Renton and Seattle, WA since 1999. Dr. Mao enjoys serving his patients. He wrote and published a dental book, “Clinical Aspects of General Dentistry” in 2008, based on his long time dental practice experiences. After so many years dental practice, Dr. Mao really like to tell everyone that oral health is very important to people’s well-being. You care for it, and we will help you maintain it.
